On behalf of the Executive Committee for this year’s tournament, we would like to invite you to join other community leaders in the effort to raise funds to support transplant recipients, their families and to increase awareness about the importance of organ donation. Right now across the country there are over 111,000 people whose lives hang in the balance as they wait for a life saving organ. Every 15 minutes another name is added to the list.

We are delighted to announce that two world-renowned cardiovascular surgeons, Dr. Denton A. Cooley and Dr. O. H. Frazier, have agreed to serve as the Honorary Chairmen.

Your participation in the 23rd Annual St. Luke’s Heart Exchange Golf Classic set for Monday, September 10, 2012 at the beautiful Clubs of Kingwood, Kingwood, Texas, will assist the Heart Exchange Support Group with the following programs:

♥ Visiting, providing encouragement, education and emotional support.

♥ Promoting organ donor awareness throughout the greater Houston area.

♥ Subsidizing temporary housing and costly medication expenses.

♥ Fund life changing research & current medical education for heart disease.

Over the last twenty two year’s $1,969,000 has been raised to help fund the efforts of the Heart Exchange Support Group, a 501 ©(3) non-profit organization. In 2011 $23,300 was used to improve patient care through specialized transplant nurse’s training and research grants to the Texas Heart Institute to advance the treatment of heart disease. Another $4,500 was provided for temporary housing. $9,500 in financial aid was supplied to patients immediate short term needs. Nearly $33,636 was spent on activities to educate the public. Heart Exchange Support Group members logged over 4,200 volunteer hours.

The success of this tournament depends entirely on the generosity of people like you and organizations like yours.
